On Wednesday September 26, 2018, the generous donation of Dr. Mark Zivot enabled the launch of the Zivot Limb Preservation Centre, at the 5th Floor Vascular Clinic of the Peter Lougheed Centre (3500 26 Ave NE, Calgary).
The Zivot Limb Preservation Centre seeks to advance excellence in patient care, education and research related to diabetic foot disease and amputation prevention. The centre is staffed by Podiatric Surgeons who maintain close contact with physicians specializing in vascular surgery, infectious disease, plastic/reconstructive surgery, orthopaedic surgery, nephrology and endocrinology, along with wound care nurses and orthotic technicians. As the tertiary care centre for Alberta, it strives to be a world leader in providing safe, compassionate, patient centered, quality diabetic limb preservation.
